THE "Swede Bend, Iowa" BOOKS ARE IN STOCK AGAin.
On behalf of the Swedish Foundation directors, we want to say THANK YOU in appreciation and gratitude
to JERRY LUNDREN  (Delaware) and BIRGITTA BLOMQVIST (Östergötland, Sweden), who collaborated in
the research and printing of this publication for the benefit of the Swedish Immigrant Museum,
Stratford, Iowa.

Note:  The Swedish Foundation's 160th Anniversary Celebration, August 24, 2009, marked the 1849 arrival
of the first Swedish immigrants to the original rural Swede Bend.  This was the beginning of many North
Central Iowa's Swedish settlements---Dayton, Burnside, Gowrie, Harcourt, Boxholm, Pilot Mound,
N. Boone, Stratford, Stanhope, Hardscrabble, Lanyon, Swede Town in Fort Dodge, and Moingona.
